State Exam Information
Registration Procedure
To register for the Florida Community Association Manager (CAM) License Exam, you must first submit a License Application to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and complete Electronic Fingerprinting with Pearson Vue.
It will take approximately 15-30 days for your application and fingerprints to be approved. Upon approval, Pearson Vue will contact you with instructions for scheduling your exam. Pearson VUE Exam
Pearson Vue administers the Florida Community Association Manager (CAM) Licensing Exam not only throughout the State of Florida, but also at Pearson VUE test centers across the country. Available test times vary by location, but in Southwest Florida exams are offered Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Southwest Florida has two testing facilities, both in Fort Myers. The nearest other testing facilities are in Sarasota and Fort Lauderdale.

When should I take my exam?
We encourage students to take the CAM state exam within 14 days of completing their training at Larson Educational Services. During our many years in the CAM education business, we have seen students have great success utilizing our recommended timeline, which is as follows:
- Submit the state application and complete fingerprinting prior to the class start date
- Attend the 16 Hour Florida CAM pre-licensing class
- Submit your Course Completion Certificate to the state immediately after finishing the class
- Purchase the optional CAM State Exam Tutor for additional preparation
- Take the state exam within 14 days after attending the class
NOTE: You will not be able to schedule and take the state exam until you receive approval from the state. It is very important that you submit your application and complete fingerprinting prior to attending the class in order to expedite the process.
What is the format of the exam?
The 100-question exam is multiple-choice taken on a computer.
What score is needed to pass the exam?
You must earn a score of 75 to pass the Florida Community Association Manager (CAM) state exam. We include excellent Exam Preparation materials in the course along with hundreds of sample questions and a practice test.
What should I bring to the exam?
- 2 forms of identification with signatures (one must be a government-issued photo identification)
- The confirmation number provided when the test reservation was made
When can I expect my exam results?
The exam is administered on a desktop computer system and your official score report is delivered immediately upon completion of the exam.
What should I do if I fail the state exam?
You are allowed to retake the Florida CAM state examination. You must pay a $68.50 re-examination fee and submit a paper re-take application to the DBPR (Department of Business and Professional Regulation).
If you are a past student at Larson Educational Services, you are also allowed to re-attend our 16 Hour Pre-Licensing Course as many times as needed within a 1 year period for no additional charge.
